Edie Brickell and The Beatnik Generation

The surprise "Modern Rock" hit of 1988. Folk rock music inspired by the 60's. Yes, they do seem late by two decades.

I used to love this album. Lounging around during hot summer breaks.

Self loathing never sounded so good with "Circle" and "I Do". The anthemic "What I Am", with its "anti-everything" stance.

"Shove me in the shallow water before I get too deep" - deep into philosophy and religion?
